Learn more about Kayakers Go Coastal. . .
This kayak was stored outside and during a wind storm a tree came down on top of the Kayak causing extensive damage to the Deck, Seam and Hull.
The hole in the bottom of this boat was sustained when 2 boats were playing too close together in the surf. The bow of another boat pierced the hull.
Playing in the rocks along the coastline is a fun pastime for many coastal paddlers. Sometimes there is a price to pay when getting too close though.
This kayak was secured to a roof rack with 2 straps however the bowline was not secured to the vehicle but it was to the bow. When the owner drove away the unsecured line wrapped around the wheel pulling the bow of the bow don over the roof rack bars making an unimaginable noise!
This was caused when a paddler was caught by a larger wave too close in and the wave stood up fast and steep and as the boat began to be surfed, the bow buried in the water and was pile driven right into the sandy bottom nearly snapping the bow off! While it was here we restored the deck back to a high gloss shine too!
